Buying Thai Land
Many wish to own land here but before taking this step it is important to know how to purchase land or property in Thailand. There are 2 different options for foreigners to own property in Thailand.
1 - Setting Up Your Thai Company
Thailand registered companies with majority Thai ownership are able to buy land in Thailand. Foreigners may not own land in their name; however their Thai registered company may own the land.
2 - Leasehold Agreements
Thailand lease law allows a 30-year maximum lease period, with the possibility of renewing the lease for additional 30 year periods. Buying Thai real estate under a leasehold interest is a very popular and preferred way for foreigners to acquire property in Thailand. The foreigner effectively leases the land or house from the Thai national who remains the owner of the land.
Title Search
This search will verify the right to access to your property; the residential zoning, environmental and planning codes applicable in the area It is a good idea to make sure that you can build a structure on the land.
